Three area teams have punched their tickets to state and look to cross home plate next week. 

The Hillcrest Academy Raven baseball team is on their way back to the Class 1A State tournament for the first time since 2008, following their substate win over Pekin earlier this week. 

You can hear all of the Hillcrest Academy state baseball tournament action live on all KCII signals, streams and apps, beginning with their quarterfinal Monday. The Raven state tournament pregame Show is at 10:30 a.m. with first pitch at 11 a.m. live from Merchant’s Park in Carroll.

The stage is set for both the Washington Demons and Highland Huskies after their quarterfinal matchups were announced for the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union state softball tournaments. Washington will face Williamsburg in the Class 3A quarterfinals Tuesday morning. The Demons earned their first trip to state since 2013 by defeating fifth-ranked Davenport Assumption 6-4 in the Region 5 finals Tuesday night. 

Highland will face number-one-ranked Wayne in the Class 1A quarterfinals Tuesday afternoon. The Huskies are entering the state tournament, winners over Iowa Valley in the Region 4 championship game that punched their ticket to Fort Dodge for the first time in 11 years.
