An Iowa City man was arrested on a felony charge related to a two-vehicle crash that happened in Washington County on the evening of March 1st. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday authorities arrested 28-year old Dunia Petro and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
He is charged with serious injury by vehicle, a class D felony, and driving while license denied or revoked, a serious misdemeanor. He is also charged with open container and driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway.
The charges stem from a wreck that happened on G36. The other driver sustained serious bodily injury with a broken leg and fractures in their back.
Petro was taken by ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospital. A blood alcohol test approximately four hours after the collision showed Petro’s blood alcohol level at .178.
