
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team took a game from No. 8 in Class 2A Iowa City Regina Tuesday, 10-5, at Paul N. Bailey Field in Wellman. After dropping two games to the Regals Monday in Iowa City, the lead was Mid-Prairie’s early Tuesday with two runs in the first. Regina gained the advantage with a five run third, to go up 5-2, but the Hawks scored eight unanswered, including two each in the fourth and fifth and four in the sixth to complete the comeback and get the win. The Golden Hawks out hit Regina 12-7 in total and issued nine walks while drawing five. Landry Gingerich led the way at the plate with three hits, an RBI and three runs scored. Cash Brown knocked in three on two hits and scored once. Brady Weber had a two hit day with a pair of RBI. Blake Swart also had two hits and drove in one. Tatem Telfer went four on the hill with five hits, five earned runs, seven walks and seven strikeouts. Brown went the last three in relief. The win pushed the Golden Hawks to 15-12 on the year as they finish the RVC season with an 11-7 mark.
