The Iowa Governor’s Charity Steer Show will have a Washington student participating this summer and the community can help support him. Tyler Lukavsky was selected as one of 25 to take part in the show at the Iowa State Fair in August.

As part of the program, funds are raised for the Ronald McDonald House. The local community can donate pop tabs to help support Lukavsky’s efforts to fundraise for the Ronald McDonald House. Washington County 4-H announced that pop tabs can be dropped off at the Washington County Extension Office on the fairgrounds now through early August.

The Iowa Governor’s Charity Steer Show will be held August 9th at the Iowa State Fair. Last year, $568,000 was raised for Ronald McDonald House through the steer show. And since its inception in 1983 over $6 million has been raised. All of the funds are distributed to the Ronald McDonald Houses of Iowa in Iowa City, Des Moines, and Sioux City.
