The Washington Demons suffered a loss to defending Class 4A state softball champion Carlisle last night by a final score of 11-3. Carlisle came out and made their presence felt with six runs in the opening inning, and they would end the game early after five frames.

Sophomore Colbie Greiner clubbed a two-run home run to get Washington on the board in the third, while senior Ella Greiner had a double as part of two hits, one run scored and one run batted. The defeat drops the Demons to 17-6. Washington will next play Monday in a conference doubleheader at Mount Pleasant.
