Precipitation and temperatures were lower than normal in Washington during the month of May. According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, this month Washington observed nearly 3.1 inches of precipitation. The normal amount for the fifth month of the year is 5.1 inches of rain. So far this year, Washington has received about 4.5 inches of precipitation lower than the normal 13.9 inches.

This May the average temperature has been 60.1 degrees while the norm is 61 degrees. 

Temperatures are expected to rise as the weekend continues and carry into the early part of the week. The NWS also advises that smoke from Canadian wildfires are expected to continue through the weekend causing mainly filtered sunshine.
