The Sigourney Savage softball team blanked BGM in a 2-0 victory Wednesday night. Sigourney leaned on the talent of senior Josephine Moore, who not only pitched a complete-game shutout, but she provided all the offense for the Savages with a two-run home run in the third inning.
Moore allowed only one hit and two walks in the circle while also recording 11 strikeouts. Eighth-grader Kinsey Clubb scored Sigourney’s other run and had a base hit to help the fifteenth-ranked team in Class 1A start the new season 2-0. The Savages are back in action this evening against Belle Plaine.
