This year’s Leadership Washington Class recently celebrated their graduation. The celebration took place at Halcyon House’s Circa 59 on May 14th. The ceremony began with a presentation featuring guest speakers from several of Washington’s non-profit and volunteer-based organizations, including PLANT Washington, Friends of Lake Darling, Washington Farmers’ Market, Washington’s Y’s Men and Women’s Club, Paws & More Animal Shelter, and The Lighthouse Center. These local nonprofits highlighted the spirit of service and community that defines Leadership Washington.

The ceremony recognized the accomplishments of this year’s participants. The day concluded with an in-progress tour at a business that will be opening later this summer, Libations on Iowa, located at 106 S. Iowa Avenue, with owner Megan Libe. Graduates were given a tour of the business which will feature over 16 beers on tap, appetizers, an open-concept kitchen, and an Airbnb. The business was a recipient of a Challenge Grant through Main Street.
