
One man has pleaded guilty and two others have upcoming court dates related to an alleged altercation that happened on the Iowa City Pedestrian Mall in December.
According to court documents, a witness told authorities an altercation occurred in a bar and then continued outside on the pedestrian mall where the victim was held by one man while others punched him. The victim was treated at the scene for multiple injuries including a broken nose and gash on the head, and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
The three men arrested related to the alleged incident are Landan Provino and Ryan Maschmann of Wayland, and Jared Reed of Crawfordsville. All three were charged with willful injury causing bodily injury and participating in a riot, both are class D felonies.
Maschmann pleaded guilty and has a sentencing hearing scheduled for June 19th.
Case management conferences have been scheduled for Provino on May 29th and Reed on July 7th.
