
After a truck hit it, one of the stoplight poles had to be removed at South Avenue B and West Madison Street in Washington. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 11:38 a.m. on Saturday a military truck struck the traffic light pole. The pole came to rest on a power line. There were no injuries.
City staff, including police officers, and crews from Alliant Energy responded to the scene and safely removed the light pole.
The intersection is operating as a four-way stop until it is fixed. City officials state the fix is expected to happen by May 30th.
