The Washington City Council approved three vehicle purchases at their most recent meeting. 

The resolutions included to purchase and finance a pickup for the Wastewater Treatment Plant in the amount of $42,136, an SUV for Administration for $38.267, and a backhoe for the Maintenance and Construction Department for $69,184. City Administrator Joe Gaa explains the purchases all came in under the budgeted amount, “I can’t remember a time when we had three budget estimates where we were under on all of them recently, and we didn’t blow them up on purpose. We were thinking that is what they were probably going to cost. So these were all three good prices on that.”

The Council approved the purchase of each vehicle. The vote for the SUV was 4 to 1 with Council member Rangel voting no.
