Eight teams begin the road to a Southeast Iowa Superconference soccer tournament championship tonight. Three quarterfinals feature KCII area teams. In the No. 1 vs No. 8 seed game the Columbus Wildcats match up with top seed Burlington Notre Dame. The Wildcats advanced through the play-in round with a Monday win over Wapello. On the season, Columbus is 4-8-1, they have been outscored 54-17 this year entering the week. Individually, Sachiel Villagrana is the leader with seven goals, Diego Villagrana and Ryan Villa each have a pair of assists and Leo Corona has made 63 saves.

Notre Dame is 11-3 this season after an 8-2 win over WACO. The Nikes have outscored their opponents 61-19 this year with 176 shots on goal, 92 corner kicks, 49 assists and a 73% team save percentage. Individually, Alessandro Markomichelakis has 21 goals and nine assists and Taylor Lundgren 52 saves. Notre Dame has won six of the last seven in the series including 9-1 earlier this year. That match starts at 5p.m. In Burlington.

In the No. 2 vs No. 7 seed match, the WACO Warriors meet higher-seeded Mediapolis. The Warriors are 3-8 this year after an 8-2 loss to Burlington Notre Dame last time out. This season, WACO has been outscored 39-25 in total with 97 shots on goal, 55 corner kicks, 15 assists and a 68% team save percentage. Individually, Tristan Luitjens leads with eight goals and he and Keiran Luitjens each have five assists. Holden Hughes has made 46 saves in goal.

Mediapolis is 9-3 after a 4-3 win over Hillcrest Academy. The Bulldogs have outscored their opponents 43-16 this year on 118 shots on goal, 40 corner kicks, 19 assists and a 79% team save percentage. Individually, Lance Ludens has a team best 15 goals, Carl Hines eight assists and Maxx Ortiz 48 saves. MEPO shut out the Warriors earlier this year 4-0 in Wayland. The Bulldogs have won three straight in the series.

It’s an All-KCII area matchup in the No. 3 vs No. 6 game when the Hillcrest Academy Ravens meet the Highland Huskies. The higher-seeded Ravens enter with a 7-3-2 mark after a 6-1 win at Central Lee Saturday. This year the Ravens are outscoring their opponents 50-15 in total with 126 shots on goal, 72 corner kicks, 42 assists and a 76% team save percentage. Individually, Mason Helmuth has 12 goals, Seth Ours seven assists and Kyle Neuschwander 51 saves.

Highland is 6-5-2 this year. They dropped a 2-1 decision to Danville last time out. The Huskies have outscored their opponents 35-22 this season with 145 shots on goal, 39 corners, 23 assists and an 86% team save percentage. Individually, Jared Diaz leads with 15 goals and six assists with Ayden Havel posting 123 saves. These two teams played to a 1-1 draw last week. Hillcrest had won the previous eight meetings. Action between the Ravens and Huskies starts at 5p.m. With the Warriors and Bulldogs to follow tonight at Archer Field in Mediapolis.
