It was a Friday road trip split for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls soccer teams at Northeast Goose Lake. The Golden Hawk girls snapped a seven match winless streak with a 2-0 victory. Both of the goals for the Hawks came before half, and from the same combo as Meadow Flynn beat the Rebel defense twice, her seventh and eighth goals of the year, on a pair of Lydia Beachy assists, her third and fourth of the season. That was more than enough for the Golden Hawk defense led by Niva Helmuth’s five save clean sheet. Mid-Prairie posted 15 shots on goal as a team and a pair of corner kicks. The win moves Mid-Prairie to 4-7-3 this season as Northeast drops to 2-11.

The Mid-Prairie boys were on the opposite end of a 3-0 shut out against Prince of Peace. The Irish scored once in the first half and added a pair of insurance goals after break. Max Cabarrocas Casadevall, Carson DeBo and Lukas Mussmann all scored with Gavin Kramer putting up two assists and one for Michael Frame. Nolan Lange had a 10 save clean sheet for the Irish who won shots on goal 14-10 and had three corner kicks. Mac Yoder led Mid-Prairie with 11 saves. Prince of Peace is now 4-8-1 after the win and the Hawks drop to 1-11-1 with the loss.

Both Mid-Prairie teams are back in action tonight when the boys travel to Cascade and the girls go to Williamsburg.
