A ruling will be filed within the next 60 days for a challenge regarding a casino in Cedar Rapids. 

The challenge from the Riverside Casino and Washington County Riverboat Foundation is over wording on a 2021 ballot referendum in Linn County for a casino and gaming. 

Earlier this year, the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission voted 4-1 to approve a license for a facility in Linn County a week after the Iowa House had advanced legislation for a five-year moratorium for new casinos in the state. That legislation was not brought to the Senate for a vote.

The court hearing on the challenge took place Wednesday at the Henry County Courthouse in Mt. Pleasant.
