Both the Keota Eagles and Sigourney Savages won conference boys’ golf duals yesterday. Keota would triumph at their home of Lagos Acres Golf Course over Lynnville-Sully with a combined team score of 165 strokes that was over 50 better than the Hawks.

Sophomore Brennan McGuire shot a team-best 36 for the Eagles, while senior Billie Kindred had a 41. Sophomore Porter Cave was only two strokes back of Kindred, while junior Jake Morris carded a 45 for Keota. Sophomores Tucker Sprouse and Cooper Strand added rounds of 48 and 49, respectively.

Sigourney won a triangular they hosted with BGM and North Mahaska, finishing with a combined team score of 149 that was 16 strokes better than the Bears and over 20 less than the Warhawks.

Solon Yates again went under par to lead the Savages by shooting a 34, while fellow junior Josh Wyatt had a 37. Sophomore Ike Molyneux added a 38 and freshman Jordan Tremmel and seniors Isaac Bruns and Cain Weber each finished with a 40.

The Sigourney girls were second in their triangular, finishing 11 strokes back of BGM with a final total of 206 but edging out North Mahaska by four. Freshman Ella Bruns had the Savages’ best round with a 49, while junior Kayla Renner was only one stroke behind her.

Senior Hannah Hanselman fired a 52 for Sigourney, with sophomore Adalynne Tremmel carding a 55, senior Reagan Clarahan posting a 56 and junior Ellie Ireland adding a 59.

The Keota girls would drop their dual to Lynnville-Sully, finishing over 2o strokes behind with a team score of 245. Senior Lainey Swanson had the Eagles’ top round of 49.
