
Many local high school students participated in a successful Kirkwood Washington County Regional Center signing day on April 23rd. The event was a way to recognize local seniors who have earned college credit in High School and who have made the decision to continue their education at Kirkwood Community College.
Students who participated in the signing day included Washington High School seniors Frida Romero Ramirez, Charlie Halverson, and Jace Sanders, as well as two Mid-Prairie home school students Lydia Martin and Tabitha Martin.
Through College Credit in High School programs, students in Washington County can explore potential careers, build essential skills, and earn free, transferable college credit, all while simultaneously working toward their high school diploma. These programs save families time and money, and also open doors to high-demand trades and academic pathways. Over the last 10 years, students have saved $9,162,174 in tuition through these courses in Washington.
