
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls soccer teams dropped a pair of River Valley Conference contests Tuesday to Dyersville-Beckman. The girls made the trip north, and were on the wrong end of a 5-0 score. No. 13 Beckman scored three times before half and added a pair of insurance goals after break. The Blazers won shots on goal 20-3. The Golden Hawks had three corner kicks. Meadow Flynn led the Golden Hawk offense with a pair of shots on goal while Niva Helmuth made 15 saves. The loss drops Mid-Prairie to 3-6-2 this year while Beckman improves to 6-1-2.
In Wellman, the Golden Hawk boys were beaten 10-0 in 68 minutes. The No. 10 ranked Blazers won shots on goal 23-1 and corner kicks 5-0. Mid-Prairie’s shot on goal came from Kale Miller. Golden Hawk keeper Mac Yoder was busy, making 13 saves. The Mid-Prairie boys are 1-8-1 with the loss, Beckman is 4-1-2. The Golden Hawk boys and girls are back on the pitch at home Friday when they host Maquoketa.
