The Tipton Tigers beat the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls golf teams in a pair of tightly contested River Valley Conference duals Monday. The Golden Hawk boys fell by a 163-165 count. Mid-Prairie’s Clayton Davidson was meet medalist with his round of 38 and three birdies. Jacob Barton led Tipton as medalist runner-up with a 39. Other cards for the Hawks included Bryce Henry 40, Denver Nelson 43, 44 for Grayson Gingerich, Hudson Ehrenfelt 45 and 47 for Ace Peck. The Hawks are now 2-2 and host their home invite Tuesday.

The Golden Hawk girls were bested 177-183 in Kalona. The Tigers swept the individual honors with Paycee Sorgenfrey 37 as medalist and Sydney Stutzel’s 40 runner-up. Top round for the Golden Hawks was Olivia Swartzentruber with 43, followed by Morgyn Bender 44, Addison English 46, Lily Miller 50, Delani Blum 53 and Paiton Chittick 58. The Hawks are now 2-1 this year and travel to the Williamsburg Invitational Wednesday.
