Hot breakfast and friendly 4-Hers await southeast Iowa residents this Saturday. Washington County 4-H is hosting their annual Pancakes and More Breakfast fundraiser at Dallmeyer Hall on the Washington County Fairgrounds. Amy Green, with the Washington County Extension Office talked with KCII News about planning, volunteers and how the proceeds will be used, “I think the numbers increasing over the years has been great. People are just so supportive ahead of time with supplies. It’s really rewarding that people see it’s happening and want to be a part of it in that way. We love to have the 4-H’rs interacting with the guests. They are worker bees. I would say by the time we are said and done there are 100 (volunteers). It’s a great time to see those volunteers in action. We are thankful that they sign up and commit. Any proceeds, 100%, support 4-H enrollment fees. This event collects money to help pay for those enrollment fees so our kids don’t have to.”
The menu includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage and a drink for a free-will donation. Dine in, drive-up or carry-out options are available. Breakfast is served from 7-10:30a.m. For more information about the event listen to Tuesday’s Jessica Yoder & Sarah Bigley with Kalona Realty Washington Page with Green.
