A trio of local Southeast Iowa Super Conference soccer teams took losses last night. That includes the WACO Warriors, who suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Fairfield.
A 2-0 halftime deficit would be too much for WACO to overcome in a 4-1 defeat. The Warriors, now with a record of 2-1, will try to bounce back when they visit Central Lee tonight.
The Columbus Wildcats would also suffer defeat in boys’ soccer, falling behind 4-0 at the half and ultimately losing 9-0 to Mount Pleasant. Columbus’ early-season record is now 1-2.
The Wildcat girls also fell to Mount Pleasant 10-0, trailing 6-0 at halftime. Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union is still winless through three matches. Both Wildcat teams next face Mid-Prairie Thursday.
