The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys golf team dropped their first dual of the year Monday, falling to West Branch in Kalona 163-175. Bryce Anderson of West Branch was meet medalist with a 36 and McGavin Smith was medalist runner-up for the Bears at 40. Top score for the Hawks was Denver Nelson with a 42, followed by Ace Peck and Clayton Davidson each with 44s, 45 for Grayson Gingerich, 46 for Hudson Ehrenfelt and 49 for Bryce Henry. The Golden Hawks are now 1-1 on the year and host Louisa-Muscatine tonight.
