The WACO Warriors wrapped up the boys’ basketball season after a 72-39 loss at Holy Trinity Catholic last night in the Class 1A District 8 semifinals. WACO kept things close early, but a 19-9 run to finish the first half put Holy Trinity up 31-21, and the Crusaders would more than double their lead to 22 points by the final quarter.

Junior Christian Stacy led the Warriors in scoring with 12 points, while sophomore Holden Hughes had 10. After the game, WACO head coach Chayse Roth told KCII Sports he was grateful for the leadership of his senior class.

“We’re going to miss all four of them,” Roth said. “We’ve got young guys that are going to step up and fill in those roles, but we won’t forget these guys, that’s for sure.”

The four seniors the Warriors lose off the roster to graduation include Isaac Rich, Clayton Miller, Joel Meyer and Gabe Brown. WACO finishes their season with a record of 18-6.
