The Washington Demons fell in their final home game of the girls’ basketball regular season last night, losing 48-28 to conference rival Burlington. A 14-5 deficit at the end of the first-quarter became a 15-point hole by halftime, and Washington could never get closer than that in the second half.
Senior Kendall Hinrichsen led the scoring with 12 points as the Demons finish Southeast Conference play at 4-6 and drop their overall record to 6-15. Washington now prepares for the postseason, which will begin Saturday when they take on Mediapolis in the Class 3A Region 1 quarterfinals.
