The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls and boys basketball teams have carried unbeaten records into the Holiday break on the strength of dominant stats.

The Golden Hawk girls are top 10 in Class 3A in seven different team categories. Their 22 steals per night are second most in the state, as are their 19 offensive boards per game. The Hawks average 42 rebounds per game third most, five blocks per game fourth most, 17 assists per game fifth in 3A and 23 defensive boards per night eighth in the state.

The Mid-Prairie boys are top 10 in Class 2A in six different team and individual categories. The Hawks are fifth in 2A as a team with 59 made threes, ninth with a 35% team three point percentage and 10th with 85 total offensive rebounds. Individually, Senior Ace Peck is eighth in 2A at 23 points per game, junior Bryce Henry is 10th at 22 points per night and sophomore Brooks Weber is fourth in 2A at 60% from three. Mid-Prairie is one of only three schools in the state, regardless of class, joining Bellevue Marquette Catholic and ACGC to have both their boys and girls basketball teams still undefeated at this point in the season.

The Golden Hawk boys and girls are both 7-0, and will be back in action Friday when they travel to West Liberty for a doubleheader you can hear live on AM 1380, FM 102.5, kciiradio.com and the KCII2 App.
