In one of the most grueling tournaments of the high school wrestling season, Aaron Boone brought home a championship for the Washington Demons.

The senior won the title at 132 pounds during the two-day Fort Madison Invitational, winning once by fall and four times by technical knockout in the pool stage before getting a pair of TKOs in the bracket round to reach the final, where he won a 12-6 decision against CJ Davis of Burlington Notre Dame and thus remained a perfect 20-0 this season.

Sophomore Blaine Rees finished in third place at 175 lbs for Washington, while senior Nate Edmonds was fifth at 113 and sophomore Greyson Hartman took seventh at 215.

Riley Kaalberg very nearly won a title for Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union, responding from losing his first pool-play bout at 165 lbs to win the next two by pin. The senior reached the finals with a pin and a 3-2 decision, but he would fall by technical knockout in the championship round.

Bowen Thomson would end up fifth at 138 for the Wildcats, while fellow junior Alex Venzor was sixth at 144. Senior Jacob Nelson took eighth at 120, with junior teammate Dakota Aney one spot ahead of him at 106. Highland senior Tyler Pierson also brought home a medal by finishing seventh at 132 lbs.
