The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls wrestling team did work over the weekend at Wilton, bringing home the team tournament championship. The Hawks won gold with 182 points, beating second place Mount Vernon’s 155. Ashlee Farrier won the individual title at 130lbs, going 3-0 on the day and pinning her way to the top of the podium, including a championship match fall over Kia Montgomery of Sigourney-Keota. Other top performances for the Golden Hawks included 2-1 records and third place finishes for Ruby Miller at 110lbs, Emmerson Moore at 135, Layken Lee at 140 and Ellie Callahan at 170lbs.

Columbus was seventh of 14 teams with 94 points. Josie Nelson won the title for the ‘Cats at 145lbs with a 3-0 day, pinning her way to gold, including a fall against Addi Whisner of Mount Vernon in the final. Jada Moats was third at 190lbs.

Sigourney-Keota was 12th in the team race with 63 points. Reanah Utterback rolled to the championship at 115lbs, pinning her way through the field including a fall over Kiersten Swart of Mount Vernon in the title bout. Kia Montgomery was second for the Savages at 130.
