
Washington County had 11,671 ballots cast in last week’s general election. According to the Iowa Secretary of State’s office with unofficial results, 74.73% of Washington county’s registered voters cast ballots. According to voter turnout reports, that is a slight decrease from the 2020 general election when 75.88% of Washington County voted. Area counties’ voter turnout last week included: Henry County at 71.37%, Iowa County at 77.14%, Jefferson County at 73.51%, Johnson County at 75.25%, Keokuk County at 76.61%, and Louisa County at 69.86%.
Statewide 1,666,173 voters took part in the election for a voter turnout of 73.83%. In 2020, the last general election, 75.77% of registered voters in Iowa voted.
