Eleven members of the Washington FFA attended the 96th Annual FFA Leadership Conference held on April 14-16 in Ames. Members participated in different activities such as convention sessions, a career show, Career Development Events and Leadership Development Events. They were also able to watch other FFA members perform in a talent show, attend a bar-b-que and enjoy an evening of dancing at the Fun Night that was available to members. All attendees had many hours to network with other chapters, future schools and employers. One highlight of the Conference was Tess Berdo, Lauren Lukavsky, and Jade Sheetz received their Iowa FFA Degree and went across the stage at the final session to receive their State Degree. There were 796 degrees awarded this year. Only 3% of the Iowa FFA members receive this honor which is the highest honor that the Iowa FFA can award. This degree is based on their involvement in FFA and their Supervised Agricultural Experience that they keep records on.
