Washington will welcome runners tomorrow for the annual Kewash Half Marathon/5K/10K. Proceeds from this event directly impact multiple non-profit groups in our communities. The annual Kewash Trail event features distances, including a 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. KCII will provide a soundtrack to Kewash runners, playing music and broadcasting live with the Big Red Radio in Sunset Park from 8-10 a.m. The following streets will be closed from 5 am to about 9:15 am: N 2nd ave from the downtown YMCA up to E 7th Street, two blocks of E 7th street, two blocks of N 4th street, two blocks of E 5th street, one block of W Main street from Federation bank to downtown YMCA. The following streets will be closed from 5 am to noon: W Main Street from Courthouse to Federation Bank, N Marion from central park to W Washington Street, W Washington Street from Central Park to Sunset Park, Entirety of Sunset Park, W Main from HWY 1 to N F Ave, N H Ave going across the Kewash trail, W 3rd Street from W 5th Street to N F Ave, Drivers will be stopped on HWY 1 for any runners crossing the road. Signs will be posted for all street closures.
