A long trip north awaits the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys soccer team tonight when they travel to Maquoketa for a River Valley Conference tilt with the Cardinals. The Golden Hawks enter the fray with a 6-4 overall record after a 2-1 Monday win at Tipton where they were led by a goal and an assist for Hugo Banuelos, a goal for Dylan Henry, an assist for Tucker Miller and 13 saves in goal from Joe Hall. On the year, the Hawks have outscored their opponents 17-14, with 169 total shots, 77 on goal, 45 corner kicks, 13 assists and 76 saves with an 84% team save percentage. Individual leaders include, Beau Flynn with four goals, Tucker Miller with three assists and Joe Hall with 58 saves and an 85% save percentage.

Maquoketa is 3-5 this season after a 3-1 win over Bellevue Monday behind a hat trick from Cameron Tracy, an assist for Cole Koob and 16 saves from Samuel Knotts. On the year, the Cardinals have been outscored 15-13 with 87 shots, 59 on goal, no corners, six assists and 113 saves with an 88% team save percentage. Individually, Tracy leads with seven goals and three assists with Knotts posting all 113 saves this year, allowing 15 goals. These teams met for the first time ever last season, a 3-1 Golden Hawk win. Action starts tonight at 5p.m. at Goodenow Field in Maquoketa.
