Two local basketball stars will take the hardwood one more time in a high school jersey at the 2024 Pizza Ranch All-Star Games after being selected to the Southeast teams by the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association.

Highland’s Sarah Burton will play for the Southeast girls after being the 2024 Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Player of the Year. Burton averaged nearly 16 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, four steals and two-and-a-half blocked shots per game in her senior season, helping the Huskies go 14-7 and being named second-team all-state by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association.

Keota’s Sawyer Stout is another all-state selection who will play for the Southeast boys in Grimes. On his way to second-team all-state honors and a unanimous all-conference selection in the South Iowa Cedar League, Stout scored almost 21 points a game for an Eagles team that started the season 23-0 and won a conference title. The 2024 Pizza Ranch All-Star Games will begin just after 10 o’clock on the morning of Saturday, March 23rd at Dallas Center-Grimes High School.
