
Washington Middle and High Schools will be represented by two archers in the bullseye competition of this year’s U.S. Eastern Nationals qualifier of the National Archery in the School Program Championshps.
Emma Helfrich will be competing for Washington High School in Louisville, Kentucky. The freshman had the second-best score among high school girls on the bullseye at this year’s Iowa State Tournament in Des Moines, firing a 290 that included 20 perfect 10s.
Seventh-grader Zach Hotchkiss will also move on to Eastern Nationals for Washington Middle after finishing fifth among middle-school boys at state with a score of 285 and 16 perfect bullseyes. NASP Eastern Nationals will begin May 9th in Louisville and run through the following two days.
