A Fairfield man was arrested and charged last month with several drug-related felonies.

On January 25, the Fairfield Police Department was dispatched to the 800 block of West Burlington Avenue for a report of a male subject armed with a bat, causing a disturbance outside a residence. Upon the arrival of law enforcement, the male subject, later identified as 33-year-old Joseph Michael Siemers, fled the scene on foot. He was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Siemers had an active warrant out for his arrest. Various narcotics were also found on his person. Siemers was charged with six counts of possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense, each a class D felony. He was also charged with interference with official acts causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor.

A preliminary hearing was held for Siemers on February 2, with an arraignment scheduled for February 20.
