The Mt. Pleasant Fire Department will hold a Chili and Soup Luncheon Sunday, October 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Located in the fire station at 204 South Jackson, the lunch will include chili, cheese & ham potato soup, along with grilled cheese sandwiches.

The event marks the beginning of Fire Prevention Week, which runs through October 15. In addition to raising awareness on fire safety, the proceeds of the luncheon will go to portable scene lighting upgrades for the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department. There is no cost for the luncheon, however free-will donations are welcome.
