There’s not a whole lot stopping the WACO Warriors on the football field these days. Second-ranked WACO marked homecoming with a 43-14 victory over New London Friday night to remain undefeated. The Warriors raced out to a 20-0 lead after a quarter of play and never looked back.

The WACO defense continued to harass the opposition. The Warriors not only forced New London quarterback Dom Perez to throw his first interception of the season, they came up with four total picks. WACO also finished with 10 tackles for loss as a team. Junior Colton Leichty had three stops behind the line of scrimmage, including a sack, as part of his five total tackles. Senior Drew Diers lead the team in tackles with eight.

On offense, the Warriors had a strong run game, piling up 260 yards and averaging 7 yards per rushing attempt. Senior Simeon Reichenbach lead the way with 22 carries for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Sophomore Louden Huisenga also scored twice and finished with 7 rushes for 46 yards.

At 6-0, WACO is two-thirds of the way to a perfect regular season. Next up is a road trip to Lone Tree this coming Friday evening.
