barn-dance

Saddle Up – it’s a Barn Dance and BBQ for people with special needs ages 14 and older is this Friday from 6:00pm-9:00pm over at the Washington County Fairgrounds. This event is taking the place of Washington’s Night to Shine and is a way to provide the members of the Washington area special needs community with their own special event.

Ann Williams, the Chairperson for this event, is quick to point out that without the volunteers that dedicate their time to the cause this event wouldn’t be possible.

“This event wouldn’t be possible without the support of the Washington United Methodist Church, other area churches and all the volunteers that help us.”

The usual formal attire of the Night to Shine will be replaced by full western apparel, and guests will receive a complementary cowboy hat, gift bag, BBQ, homemade ice cream and a framed photo of them attending the event. They can also participate in numerous activities like face painting, a special ride that goes around the fairgrounds and of course dancing.

Volunteers are still needed from servers to photographers , so if you would like to become a volunteer you can register at the SADDLE UP! It’s A Barn Dance! Facebook Page.
