It was meeting number two between area rivals on the diamond last night with Lone Tree hosting Highland and both Huskie summer teams capped off a series and season sweep of the Lions. 

The Highland softball team hurried out to a 7-0 advantage after two and they piled on in the later innings for a 17-2 win. The Huskies managed 16 hits in the win with Katie Herrig busting out for a 4-for-5 night with two RBI. MyLei Smith brought in three runs on a pair of hits and Grace Batcheller was 3-for-5. Batcheller tossed a complete game in the circle with both runs being unearned giving up five hits and striking out six. Highland is now 11-6 overall and 8-2 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference. Lone Tree drops to 7-9 and 5-6 in the league. 

The Huskie baseball squad put up a five spot in the first and they never lost their momentum in a 13-3 victory in five innings. They had 12 knocks with Brenton Bonebrake going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Chase Schultz, Trevor McFarland, and Peyton Yeggy each had a pair of hits. Schultz tossed three frames on the hill giving up one earned run on six hits and recorded the victory. Cade Patterson led the home Lions going 2-for-3 with one RBI. Highland is now 13-1 overall and 8-1 in the conference. Lone Tree falls to 5-6 and 4-5 in the north.
