Once the offense started it never stopped on Thursday for the Winfield-Mt. Union softball team when they put the hurt on Mediapolis by a 20-7 score in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference showdown.

It wasn’t until the third inning when the Wolves crossed the plate and the floodgates immediately opened with scoring innings of two, four, three, two, and nine to pull away for the victory. The team combined for 10 hits with Keely Malone and Makiah Lower each having two knocks and three RBI. Malone scored four times and Anna Anderson brought in a pair of tallies. Lower tossed all seven frames in the circle giving up three earned runs on seven hits and striking out seven.

WMU improves to 2-1 and they host Pekin (0-2) tonight.
