Death, taxes, and Washington girls’ golf winning the Southeast Conference crown. Just like clockwork, the SEC runs through the Demons once again in 2022 when the orange and black won the league tournament on Wednesday at Flint Hills in Burlington.

The Demons battled through the warm afternoon to shoot an 18-hole score of 348 for the win. Makenna Conrad nabbed fourth place with an 83 and Kaylin Long was fifth with 84. Burlington’s Lauren Briggs won the individual crown with a 79. Other Washington scores included Alecia Goff 90, Mallary Johnson 91, Maci Williams 104, and Haley Mitchell 117.

Next up for the team is the class 3A regionals on Wednesday at Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa.
