WACO Third, Washington Fourth, Highland Wrestling Ninth at L&M Invite

Three KCII area wrestling teams competed in Letts on Saturday for the Louisa-Muscatine invite including WACO, Washington, and Highland. 

The Warriors had the top area finish in third out of 11 teams with 109 points compared to West Liberty placing first with 182.5. One WACO grappler stood on top of the podium with Jonah Clark at 220 lbs going 2-0 with a pair of pins that totaled 1:35. Kris Boone was second at 170 lbs while Gage Samo placed third at 106 lbs and Drew Diers was third at 195 lbs. 

Washington was next in line in fourth with 107 points. Aaron Boone continued his undefeated start to his career by pinning his way to three victories at 113 lbs in a combined 5:30. The freshman moved to 38-0 on the season. Jude Carter had a second place showing at 132 lbs, Chase Greiner second at 160 lbs, Curtis Stender second at 195 lbs, and Colley Billingsly third at 220 lbs.  

Highland had a ninth place team showing by tallying 75 points. Carlos Valenzuela added a title to his resume by placing first at 132 lbs with a fall, 14-2, and 9-0 major decisions. Easton Schlabaugh was runner-up at 113 lbs and Jacob Hill was second at 152 lbs.
