Residents in southeast Iowa can enjoy a free Thanksgiving meal with family and community members with the help of local churches.

Holy Trinity Church in Richmond will be hosting a Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving day. There is limited dine-in seating and carry-out is available. Participants are asked to RSVP by Monday to Joyce Mattes at 319-656-3276. Churches in the Wayland community are teaming up to host their annual community Thanksgiving dinner. The churches will be offering all the homemade fixings of a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Food will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 25th at WACO High School.  Dine-in and carry out meals are offered. Free-will donations are accepted with proceeds going back to local food pantries. For more information on these events, visit our community calendar.
