A Winfield home received extensive damage from an electrical fire on Friday.
Winfield Fire Chief Josh Sparrow says agencies responded to reports at approximately 3:18 p.m. of a house fire at 308 West Ash Street. Two dogs and three cats were in the house at the time of the fire. Firefighters were able to save the dogs. One cat did not make it out and the third is unaccounted for. Two bedrooms on the east side of the house received the brunt of the damage with water and smoke damage throughout the house. Sparrow says the cause of the fire is believed to be caused from the wiring of a ceiling fan. Morning Sun, Olds and Mount Union fire departments, Henry County Ambulance, Winfield Police Department and Henry County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
