A Washington felon who was arrested on weapon charges last July was arrested Tuesday.

The Washington County Communications Center states that at about 1:09 p.m. the Washington Police Department located an unoccupied stolen vehicle near the intersection West Washington Boulevard and South Avenue C. The vehicle was returned to the owner, and 29-year-old Murphy Lee Rutherford was arrested on a county warrant for pretrial release violation on two counts of a felon in control of a firearm and one count of second-degree theft, both class D felonies. Bond was set at $5,000 cash only. Rutherford was also charged with first-degree theft, a class C felony. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
