The Iowa Association of Track Coaches has released their newest high school cross country rankings. In class 3A, the Washington Demon boys and girls teams remain ranked at No. 16 and No. 18 respectively after narrowly missing tickets to Fort Dodge at their qualifier meets last week. Individually in the 3A poll, Lance Sobaski is ranked No. 6 and Micah Rees is ranked No. 26 this week, both of those Demons will compete at the state meet Friday after qualifying at Solon as individuals.

In class 2A, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls remain in the top spot for the ninth straight week after a runaway win at the Williamsburg state qualifier to punch their ticket to Fort Dodge for the eighth season in a row. The Hawks are looking for their fifth straight 2A team championship. Individually, defending state, River Valley and state qualifier meet individual champion Danielle Hostetler remains ranked No. 1 overall. She is joined in the poll by teammates Sydney Yoder at No. 11, Jaden Yoder No. 13, and Mitzi Evans No. 19. For the Golden Hawk boys, they are ranked fourth after qualifying for state as a team as runners-up behind No. 3 Williamsburg last week. The Golden Hawks have Thaddeus Shetler ranked No. 14. This is the second straight year the Mid-Prairie boys will be going to state as a team.

In class 1A, The Columbus Wildcat boys are ranked 14th and headed back to Fort Dodge as a team after finishing as runners-up at the Iowa City state qualifier a week ago. The Wildcats have Freddy Vergara ranked No. 19 in 1A. This is the second straight year the Cats will be on the course in Fort Dodge.
