The one Washington cross country home meet of the year is this evening at Washington Golf and Country Club with several KCII area teams participating.

The Demon boys are currently ranked 20th in class 3A with Lance Sobaski sixth in the individual ratings and Micah Rees 22nd. Both the boys and girls won the Mount Pleasant meet last week with Sobaski and Quincy Griffis winning the individual titles.

Head Coach Stefanie Haworth breaks down the night. “We will be introducing our seniors at 4:15 p.m. We have five of them that have done great things for us. We are off to a great season and it would be wonderful to see a lot of fans out there to support them.”

Other schools that are making the trip include area squads Highland, Lone Tree, and Sigourney with the rest of the lineup being Fairfield, Fort Madison, Keokuk, and Mount Pleasant. The action begins at 4:30 p.m. today at Washington Golf and Country Club.
