The Top ten ranked Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls cross county teams are back in action today when they travel to Pella for the Central College Invitational. The Golden Hawks last ran at Saturday’s Anamosa Invitational, where the Golden Hawk girls were team champions, led by individual champ Danielle Hostetler with her time of 19:01. Mid-Prairie put all five of their scoring runners in the top 10 and all seven participants in the top 16. Mid-Prairie enters today’s meet ranked No. 1 in class 2A in this week’s girls poll from the Iowa Track and Field Coaches Association with four individually ranked runners in their lineup. No. 1 in 2A Danielle Hostetler, No. 2 Jaden Yoder, No. 8 Mitzi Evans, and No. 12 Sidney Yoder.

The Mid-Prairie boys were fourth at Anamosa. They enter today’s meet ranked No. 6 in class 2A in the latest IATC poll.

The Columbus Wildcats will also be in Pella today. The Wildcat boys are currently ranked No. 14 in class 1A. They are led by Isaac Acosta and his No. 18 individual rating. Joining the Golden Hawks and Wildcats at today’s meet are No. 2 AC/GC, No. 13 Baxter, Bondurant-Farrar, No. 14 Collins-Maxwell, No. 4 Des Moines Christian, Eddyville-Blakesburg, Lynnville-Sully, No. 20 Montezuma, Mount Pleasant, Nevada, No. 2 North Polk, No. 10 Norwalk, Oskaloosa, No. 15 Panorama and the home Pella Christian Eagles and No. 3 Pella Dutch. Action starts this morning at 9:30 and continues all day on the campus of Central College.
