
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball and softball teams will be back under the lights at home Thursday when they welcome Anamosa for River Valley Conference action. The Mid-Prairie baseball team is 13-4 on the year after sweeping No. 15 Wilton on the road Monday 10-1 and 14-3. Mid-Prairie is ranked No. 7 in class 2A this week according to the latest poll from the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association. For the year, the Hawks are hitting .364 as a team, third best in class 2A with a staff ERA of 3.63. Individually, the Hawks are led by Aidan Rath with a state best nine home runs. He is hitting .500 with 27 total hits, 26RBI and 23 runs scored. He is one of five Hawks along with Karson Grout, Kayden Reinier, Cain Brown and Keegan Gingerich hitting over .400. Alex Bean is 3-0 on the mound with a 3.86ERA while Rath is 3-1 in 23 innings with a 1.20ERA.
Anamosa stands at 14-12 on the season. The Blue Raiders were beaten by Davenport West 16-6 in six innings on Wednesday. For the year, Anamosa is hitting .288 as a team with a staff ERA of 4.38. Individually, they are led by Nolan McLean at .449 with 31 total hits and 26 RBI. On the mound the leader is Jake Jess with a 3-0 record in 18 innings and a 0.78 ERA. Last year the Hawks beat Anamosa on the road in the regular season finale 6-1 to claim a share of the River Valley title.
The Mid-Prairie girls are 6-22 on the year after a sweep of Holy Trinity Catholic on the road by 13-3 and 15-1 scores Wednesday. For the year, the Hawks are hitting .335 as a team with an ERA of 7.54. Individually, Mid-Prairie is led by Landry Pacha with a .387 average with 29 hits, seven RBI and 15 runs scored. In the circle, Myah Lugar is 5-15 in 118 innings with a 7.18ERA. Anamosa is 21-6 overall and 12-1 in the River Valley, first place overall.
