The Keota Eagle baseball and softball teams were swept at home Monday by visiting Belle Plaine. On the baseball diamond, Keota fell 3-2. After pushing across one run in the top of the first, the Eagles watched the Plainsmen tie it with one in the third and score twice in the fourth to go up 3-1. The Eagles found one more run in the sixth but could not complete the comeback. Colten Clarahan and a hit and an RBI in the loss. Caden Clarahan also drove in one. Carson Sprouse took the loss in relief, going, four innings, giving up one hit, and three runs. Keota is now 4-2 on the year.

The Eagle softball team was shut out 6-0. Belle Plaine got on the board with a single run in the second and then pulled away with three in the fifth and a pair in the sixth. The Keota offense had just one hit in the game, a Taylor Kindred double. She was the lone Eagle baserunner on the night. Macie McDonald went the distance in the circle for Keota, giving up nine hits, six runs, none earned and striking out six. With the loss, Keota falls to 0-5.
