The Hillcrest Academy soccer team takes the pitch tonight against visiting Mediapolis. The Ravens are at .500 on the season with a 2-2 record after a 1-0 win over Cedar Valley Christian Saturday where Noah Miller supplied the lone tally and Aaron Hershberger the clean sheet. On the season, Hillcrest is led by Will Kolck with three goals. John Hughes, Dominic Bouse and Johnny Diaz all have one assist. Aiden Krabill has spent the most time in goal with 28 saves in 240 minutes for a 70% save percentage.

Mediapolis enters the match with a 6-3 record. The Bulldogs are receiving votes in this weeks class 1A poll from the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association. Last time out they beat Highland 3-0 on Tuesday with Elijah Grier scoring twice. On the season MEPO is led by Drew Zurmuehlen with eight goals, Grier has the team lead with four assists and in goal Randall Hine has made 106 saves for an 85.5% save percentage. Hillcrest has won the last nine meetings in the series including a 3-1 victory in 2019. Action begins tonight at 6p.m. on the campus of Hillcrest Academy.
