Keota Met Tri-County Tuesday in a South Iowa Cedar League basketball doubleheader in Thornburg. The Eagle boys were a big winner 88-30. They sprinted out to a 26-6 lead after the first quarter and 42-10 at half. Keota closed the game on a 27-3 run that spanned the entire fourth quarter. The Eagles shot 53% for the game, knocked down 15 three pointers, out rebounded the Trojans by 23, racked up 27 assists and all 13 Eagles that saw the floor scored. Keota was led by Carson Sprouse with 14 points, Luke Hammen and Dakota Detweiller each had 12. The Eagles are now 18-1 on the season.

The Keota girls were beaten by a 45-27 final. It was a defensive battle early with the Eagles up 5-3 after the first quarter and 18-12 at half. The halftime adjustments worked for Tri-County as they outscored the Eagles 33-9 after the break including 19-3 in the third quarter to grab the come from behind win. With the loss, the Keota girls are 2-14 on the season.
